Our Task
For our Physics of Sports video, our task was to create a video that explained and demonstrated the physics behind a certain sport. The sport that we chose was running, or more specifically, sprinting. We had four weeks to research, script, film, and edit our video. My group members were Sarah and Heston.

Physics Concepts We Used In This Project
Force of Impact- The force exerted on an object when impacted by another object. We used the equation mv=ft to find the force of impact, which was Heston´s foot contacting the ground.
Vertical Velocity- The speed of an object in one direction while going vertically. We calculated Heston´s vertical velocity as he was running by finding how quickly he was falling.
Horizontal Velocity- The speed an object has in one direction while going horizontally. We calculated Heston´s horizontal velocity as he was running by dividing the distance by the time.
Projectile Motion- The total velocity of an object while it is in the air and effected by acceleration due to gravity. We calculated this by using vector addition and the Pythagorean Theorem.
Angle of Take Off- The angle that Heston pushed off the ground. We calculated this using a trigonometric function.

Reflection
I feel that my group worked very well together. We all contributed equally to the project, and divided up the work fairly. We were able to compromise and find solutions to all of the problems that we came across. I think that I did much better with cooperation this project, and I got along much better with all of my group mates. One thing that was difficult was not getting distracted while editing. It was difficult for all three of us to edit the video at the same time, so it was easy to get bored and wander off. I had to work hard to remained focused on the computer, and contributing my ideas to the group. In the end, my group and I were able to stay on task. It was also hard to find a quiet space to work on the voice-overs. Most spaces had another group working there, and it was hard to record something without another group talking as well. It was also hard to understand what we were saying sometimes. If we had more time to work on this I would definitely have re recorded some of the voice-overs.
